NY WHEATFIELD — Wheatfield Town Board unanimously authorizes three grants for Niagara River park. The board voted to submit applications to the Niagara River Greenway Commission, New York State Office of Parks, and the state Department of State for the 2020 River Road Waterfront Park, which would transform town-owned parcels into public access and trail improvements including an accessible fishing dock and habitat restoration. The town has already secured 425,000 dollars in EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant funding.
Personnel actions included accepting Chief Constable Robert Connery's retirement and promoting Constable Daniel Guiher to Chief Constable, effective July 1.
