Wheatfield board approves partial variance for Hird Street rebuild
Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of March 23, 2026
NY WHEATFIELD — Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approves partial variance for Hird Street reconstruction. Gabrielle and Brian Literman's proposed demolition and rebuild at 112 Hird Street earned an East side setback variance, reducing the required distance from fifteen feet to ten feet. The board tabled the full request pending detailed survey work, site plan enlargement, and documentation of utility easements and shared driveway agreements.
The applicants triggered FEMA's fifty percent substantial damage rule and opted for demolition instead; the new 1,575-square-foot structure will be sixty-eight feet long versus the existing fifty-foot footprint. Resumed hearing April 13.
